Thanks for a great turnout at todays race. Ian Hopkins did a great job of planning the courses and Pete Jones revising the map with very limited time constraints on access. Thanks to Barry McGowan for controlling. Thanks also to the little platoon of Wrekin volunteers who make staging these events easy.
Please upload your route to Routegadget is good to see other routes and it helps us plan better courses.
Planners comments.
With limited access to Lizard Hill courses were armchair planned in advance. When access was granted I had to abandon these courses and start again. Lots of paths had disappeared or were overgrown. Lots of leaf litter and wind-blow damage made paths indistinct for juniors. In the end Yellow and Orange had a short section of tapes.
I tried to use parts of Pete Jones updated map to visit control sites not used before, hence the siting of the finish and rather long walk back to assembly.
I hope my courses visited bits of the Gallops not previously used on Blue and Brown.
Hope you all enjoyed the woods and avoided the worst of the brambles
