Teams of 8 pupils had qualified to represent each of the six districts competing at the final, via the tier 2 district schools competitions held at various venues in Shropshire during the past few weeks. Club coaches Tony and Andy,( with assistance from a group of Young Leaders from various Shropshire secondary schools) led the groups through some practice and site-familiarisation exercises before the exciting mass start main race. This years winners in the closely contested 30 minute ‘score format’ final were from North Shropshire district. Very impressively they found all 20 controls in the time allowed, navigating quickly around Sundorne Leisure Centre and the adjacent community woodlands, despite the hot conditions. All the competitors and assisting staff (and parents!) are very welcome to come along to any of the remaining Tuesday evening events for their next mini-adventure. Pic (courtesy of Energize STW) Teams scatter in all directions from the start flag. Good turnout at last nights summer evening event, hope you all enjoyed the steps..it will look good on your Garmin!
Look forward to seeing you all next time. Results here |
