I have added a new profiles page to the site and to get us into the confessionary mood is my Interview with Duncan Birtwistle. Duncan is having a great spring, with Wrekin fell race win and a superb JK (with some help from Clive and Craig in the relay!) and we wish him well for the British Champs.
Profile here... Rod Postlethwaite has just been awarded the Chichester Trophy for his map of Keele University, which was used for last year’s British Sprint Championship. The Chichester Trophy is the highest BOF award for mapping and this is the fourth time that Rod has won it.
Congratulations to Duncan Birtwistle on being selected to represent Great Britain at the forthcoming World Cup. Clearly the move to Shropshire been an inspiration. Duncan also ran brilliantly in the JK and I'm hoping to get a full report from him soon.
Link to British Orienteering website here.. Warning to Competitors of Roadworks
There are roadworks on Pave Lane in Newport which is the road you will use to get to this event. As of 9th April , access to this road at the Newport end ( North ) is closed and you will be diverted to use the Southern access off the A41 (arrowed in the map below ref SJ764165 ) . At the entrance to Pave lane you will see “Road Closed” or “Road Closed Ahead” signs and also at a couple of points as you proceed along the road. It is not closed for access to Lilleshall Sports Centre so keep going until you get to the entrance but you should proceed with caution . Final details with some important updates available on the events pages here..
