Dave Williams Planner/organizer...We have a HOC night event on Thursday 26th - I know that some of the WRE runners come to our night events. This time 1/2 the area is brand new to orienteering - and this might be the only time we get to use it. Event is on the West side of Kidderminster.

The Mercia Hill Trial is similar to the Long-O but has the added complication of taking place in winter, so the weather/visibility may be very poor. There are two courses - long (around 14km and 860m of ascent) and short (around 9km and 625m of ascent). There will be a manned safety checkpoint at roughly your halfway point. The mandatory kit requirements are full waterproof body cover, compass and whistle, hat and gloves and some emergency food.
Whilst there may be a possibility of entries on the day, it's much better for us if folks wanting to run enter through SI. This event is planned and organised with significant assistance from WRE members and it would be great to see some orienteers there to show the fell runners how it should be done!
