What
is Orienteering?
Good
Question! Something to do with maps? Running? Orienteering basically
involves
walking/running around a set course visiting markers navigating with
the aid of
a compass and map. There are several disciplines (types) of
orienteering. Wrekin
members predominantly take part in foot-orienteering i.e. cross country
running/walking navigating around a series of markers.
Wrekin
recommends the Oxford
University Orienteering Guide which is a good start
for those new to the
sport.
